Here is the second set of mood boards inspired by Crate and Barrel’s fall product line. Today’s color palette combines maroon, taupe and umber. This warm palette incorporates natural textures and tones with a pop of color. This could be translated into a rustic wedding through the decor, attire and venue location.

Although it’s almost 90 degrees outside today, fall really is just around the corner. My mailbox has recently been bombarded with home decor catalogs all featuring warm color palettes, autumn inspired decor, and cozy surroundings. We’ve whipped up 4 mood boards from the current Crate & Barrel catalog along with a wedding design board that corresponds. We’ll be posting one today, one on Thursday, and the final 2 next week. Be sure to leave us a comment and let us know which is your favorite and why!

Todays board centers around varying shades of reds and purples, both of which can be easily translated into flowers, dresses, and linen.

Wedding Venues: Ford Piquette Avenue Plant

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to check out an amazing, unique, and historical venue. I absolutely love history and think the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant (also known as the “Birthplace of the Model T”) is such a fun option, especially if you have a love for cars or Detroit in general.

This three level, 67,000 square foot building is the first building built and owned by the Ford Motor Company, and where the first Model T was assembled in 1908. It is now open to the public as a City, State, and Federal Historic Site, a National Historic Landmark, and a National Heritage Site.

The site is located on the corner of Beaubien and Piquette in Detroit. Check it out! www.tplex.org

The typical bridal updo with a tiara or veil is beautiful and traditional. There are so many fun options for your bridal style that maybe you haven’t thought of yet. Even if you wear your veil to the ceremony, who’s to say you can’t replace it with a headband or a vintage brooch for the reception? Here’s some beautiful finds that will hopefully inspire you!
